UEAtc CEN and EOTA
Technical standardisation and
regulatory harmonisation are recognised as the ultimate market
introduction for new products and systems.
The members of UEAtc therefore:
- contribute to CEN and EOTA
(www.eota.be) work in order to promote
European technical harmonisation, mandated by the EC or otherwise,
and foster rapid implementation of preliminary or not yet complete
results of codification in practice through their approvals,
- offer their services to
manufacturers and users of new products and systems not yet covered
by harmonisation, in the early stages of development
- assure continuity of approval
services during the transition period of the setting up and
implementation of CPD schemes, and minimise transition
problems.
- try to ensure during that period
that the harmonised and voluntary standardised specifications are
complementary wherever this may be necessary,
After accomplishment of the transition
to standards, UEAtc members continue to deliver complementary
services for :
- products and product performances
either outside or incompletely covered by the harmonised
specifications,
- the approval of products used to
manufacture finished construction products and kits,
- approval of systems for innovative
use, design and installation of harmonised products, where those
aspects are not or not yet covered.
